Oh Marvelous Rules

Age

Due to mature themes like violence and sexual content, this game is for players who are 18 years of age and up (hence the age question on the application).

Drama

Is entirely unnecessary. This is a game and the point is to have fun. If there are any issues, contact me by pm, email (ohmarvelousmod@gmail.com), or AIM (ohmarvelousmod)

Mary Sues/Godmodding

Don’t do anything to another character without player permission, please. My guess is that if you’re applying you know what to do and not to do when it comes to Mary Sues and godmodding. Spelling/Grammar

Spelling and grammar are important and it’s always a good idea to check over your writing before posting it. Firefox shows when words are spelled incorrectly, and if you’re unsure there’s always a dictionary. I am not going to be ridiculous about this, but please try to make sure your writing makes sense and put some effort into spelling.

Character Limit

The RPG’s character limit is six*. Please wait at least a month before you decide to apply for another character.

Activity Requirements

Activity is important in any game. If you’re going on hiatus please let me know. If you haven’t posted within two weeks or made a hiatus announcement, then I will contact you and find out why you haven’t been posting. If you ignore the first attempt at contact, I will contact you once more after two more weeks and if the message is ignored again then I will have to remove you from the game. I’m giving ample opportunity for you to remain in the game and so long as you can give me a reason as to why you haven’t been posting, and a promise that you will post as soon as you can; I will be understanding.

Hiatus

The mod, and all the players, have responsibilities and lives outside the game. Real life always comes first, so don’t be afraid to tell me if you need to take a hiatus for any reason. I am likely to be understanding, however prolonged absences and recurring hiatuses will result in your removal from the game.

PBs

Please keep your PBs as close to canon as possible. This does not, however, mean that you have to use the actors from any of the movies. Check the resource page for icon communities that might help with PB ideas. Hollow Art is particularly helpful.

Character Knowledge

Even if you are aware of information, your character may not be. Unless the information is explicitly told to your character by another character or you and another player have arranged for your character to eavesdrop, chances are you don’t know the details of private conversations or events. Please try and keep your character knowledge and your player knowledge separate. Conversely, just because certain things aren’t threaded does not mean they aren’t occurring. It is safe to assume that if your character lives with another character they see one another on a daily basis, even if there aren’t threads of them on a daily basis. It is somewhat unrealistic for roommates/best friends/lovers/etc. to go a few weeks without talking. If you’re not sure if your character would be aware of something, ask the other character it is concerning and work something out.

Plot

I am open to any ideas you might have, so feel free to share your ideas. If you want to do something that affects the entire game please let me know ahead of time. If you’re part of a group (X-men, Avengers, etc.) don’t be afraid to come up with missions and villains and what not. Plot will be primarily player driven, though I will occasionally introduce a sweeping plot that affects the entire game. In effect, there is very little in this game that you can’t do.

Interaction

Interact! Unless it’s absolutely positively out of character for your character to speak to someone (and chances are, you’ll always have a chance to speak) then try to interact with anyone and everyone. Even if the characters hate one another, they can still exchange insults. Interaction makes for plots, fun, and keeps the game going.
